1. The Scenic Beach & Cliff Trail Route
The tour departs from a quiet equestrian base near the historic Quadrado. Riders follow a lush forest trail down towards Praia dos Coqueiros or Praia dos Nativos, where the wide shoreline opens up to turquoise ocean waters.
Continuing north towards Praia do Rio da Barra, you ride alongside dramatic multi-hued clay cliffs (falésias) and freshwater river estuaries where the river meets the sea. There are opportunities for gentle trotting, taking photographs with the horses in the shallow water, and taking in the sea breeze.
